I was reading through all the reflective journals on reflectivejournal.co.uk and I noticed one of the second year online environment students had been keeping a scrapbook of typography and graphic design that he had come across on flyers and other print based material. I think this is really worthwhile for a web designer as it enables you to follow trends and take note of styles you would like to adapt and use yourself.
I'm going to try putting this into practice for the rest of the summer and if I find it useful then hopefully I'll keep it up for the duration of my course.

Character Animation and Walk Cycles in Flash
0 Comments Published by David Kingsnorth on at 3:10 PM.Been really busy lately so this is my first post in a while. I've wanted to learn how to animate characters in flash for a while now, so today I went all out and instead of messing around with stick men I sketched myself a little guy called 'Dex'. I decided I'd attempt rigging my character thoroughly enough so that I could complete a walk cycle.
After spending a lot of today on it, I'm as good as finished with the leg and body movements so I'll be posting the finished walk cycle complete with arm movement tommorow night.
In case anyones interested I combined the following YouTube tutorials to get a general idea of how character animation can be achieved in flash:
